I am a Senior Service Engineer and the founder of 3DIY.ie, based in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, working across Kildare and Dublin. My day job is appliance repair and 3D printing — taking broken things apart, working out why they failed, and making the part that nobody sells any more.
That is more or less where PotWatch came from. Spending your working life inside other people's appliances gives you strong opinions about how domestic machines ought to behave: they should be honest about what they know, they should not fail silently, and they should not need an app.
I am an inventor, and PotWatch is not the only idea I have. It is the one I chose to build first and give away, because it is small enough to finish and useful enough to be worth finishing. There are others on the bench — some more ambitious, some with real commercial potential — that need more than one pair of hands and one evening at a time.
So if you are looking for someone who designs, builds and actually ships physical products: I am open to collaboration. Partners, manufacturers, investors, or just other engineers who enjoy this kind of problem — get in touch.
